Domažlice
Domažlice (in German: Taus ) is cheap area of Plzeň, in Czech Republic.
Domažlice reached the statute of city under the reign of Přemysl Ottokar II of Bohemia. This last made strengthen the city in order to defend the border with the Bavaria. Guardes border were recruited among the Chodes, people of free farmers which had been established in the area.
The city was guaranteed (intermittently) in Bavaria of 1331 to 1419. Under the reign Hussite, the German citizens were expelled of the city, and since the population is with Czech prevalence. In 1431, Prokop Large the overcame the crusaders of the Saint Empire Romain Germanique close to Domažlice. The city changed hands frequently during and centuries, but its importance declined following the Guerre Thirty Year old. It is only in 1770 that the refleurit city, mainly thanks to innovations in textile industry.
In the context of the Czech national Rebirth, Domažlice took a central place during the 19th century. A Pèlerinage which was held on August 13rd 1938 transformed into a broad demonstration against the German occupation.
