Dolores Shade

Character of the saga Harry Potter , written by J.K. Rowling. Exit of the Bureaucracy of the Ministry for the Magic, it is a character limited and particularly pervert, ready with all the legal or illegal means, including the physical Torture, to impose its law on Poudlard and to oblige Harry not to more announce on the world of the wizards the return of Voldemort.

The author makes of it for the first time mention in the volume 5, in chapter 8. It is the principal antagonist of Harry this year within Poudlard. It is also briefly mentioned in volume VI, then plays a more important part though secondary in the seventh and last volume.

Character and role in the series

Dolores Jane Shade (in english language version: Dolores Jane Umbridge ) is an under-secretary of State near the Minister for the Magic, Cornelius Fudge. It is a witch with the squat silhouette, with a famous person on a quasi non-existent neck. It has a broad and soft mouth and large round eyes making it resemble a large clamping plate. Its hair châtain clearly short and is buckled, its voice tart and is perched high, while its teeth are pointed. It often carries a pink stringcourse in the hair and a fluffy cardigan, pink him too.

Civil servant of the Ministry for the Magic, it took part in the interrogation of Harry in front of the Magenmagot, voter for his culpability. This one having done nothing but defend oneself vis-a-vis Détraqueur S which it itself had sent; revelation that Shade made with Harry in worms school end of the year. It goes even until returning the professor Trelawney, of which it judges the way of teaching inappropriate, this one escaping other than the castle by an intervention in extremis from Dumbledore. This one, threatened of arrest by Shade and Cornelius Fudge, the Minister for the Magic, succeeds in escaping, not without to have before humiliated by beating with him only the Minister, Ombrage and Auror, to have named Dawlish. After the departure of Dumbledore, Dolores Ombrage takes the title of Director of Poudlard but does not manage to enter the office of Dumbledore, this one hermetically remaining closed despite everything its efforts because of the waste-gas mains which refuse to let it enter.

It makes pass to Harry and its comrades one year terrible, making pass a multitude of new decrees of education, in particular making dissolve all the clubs or organizations, including the teams of Quidditch.
