Dolbeau-Mistassini

Dolbeau-Mistassini is a city of the Quebec, located in the regional Municipalité of county of Maria-Chapdelaine, in the administrative area of the Saguenay-Lake-Saint-Jean. Formed in 1997 by the fusion of the old towns of Dolbeau and Mistassini, its population oscillates around: 15000 inhabitants. It is named in the honor of the father Jean Dolbeau.

This city is recognized like the world capital of the cornflower, name given locally to the Airelle with narrow sheets, a species close to the Myrtille.

Dolbeau-Mistassini accommodated the Jeux of Quebec during the winter 1985. The major part of industry dolmissoise rests on the forest and its exploitation.
