Doire Baltée
The Doire Baltée , in Italian Gilded Baltea , is a Rivière Italy 160 km length, tributary of left bank of the Po, which runs in the areas Val of Aoste and Piedmont.
Geography
Doire Baltée is formed in the solid mass of the Mont Blanc, with Entrèves, by the junction of two torrents, Doire of the Val Veny, which is born with the Glacier from the Aiguilles from Tré the Head, and Doire of the Val Tag, which is born on the Tête mount from Tag where it collects water of the glacier of Pre of Bar. It sprinkles in particular Courmayeur, Aoste in the Valley of Aoste and Ivrée in Piedmont. It is thrown in Po close to Chivasso.
Etymology
One knows few things about the etymology of the names of the type doire or doron , very currents in the Alps of north.
The names of the Durance, Dranse or Douro would be attached to the same etymology.
It is supposed that it is about a pre-Celtic hydronyme (Ligurian?) gilded meaning “running water”, “torrent”. The terms Breton S and Welsh dour and dwr , of the Brittonique dobro- , mean “water simply”.
