Dogado

Dogado , (means State of the doge ), old province of the State of Venice, between the Polésine with the South, the Padouan in the West, the Trévisan and the the Friuli in North, and the Adriatique in the East, included/understood the many small islands which form the town of Venice, more Giudecca, San Giorgio Maggiore, S. Erasmo, Malamocco, and a long dry land cord, of Loreo in the delta of Po until Grado in the south of the the Friuli. Venice was the chief town.
