Dodge is a Car manufacturer and of Heavy truck S whose logo is a ram with the slogan “Take the life by the horns”.
In 1901 John and Horace Dodge move their factory of bicycles and machines with Detroit in the Michigan. They manufacture bearings and other parts for the first auto industries, and they help with the development of the engines of the first Oldsmobile.
In 1902 the Dodges brothers are approached by Henry Ford which seeks of the assistance to finance its own company of manufacture of cars. The Dodge brothers thus help Ford to finance its undertaken and manufacture parts.
In 1914 the Dodge brothers decide to create their own brand. The first models resemble the Ford T convertible, but with some innovations like an electric starter and the slogan: “reliable” and they run out about it of the hundreds of thousands.
In 1917, the two brothers launch out in the construction of heavy trucks, at the beginning for the army of the the United States during the First World War, then for the civil uses after the end of the hostilities.
In 1925, the company of the Dodge brothers is repurchased by Dillon, Read and Compagnie for 146 million Dollar S, the greatest financial affair ever seen at the time. Dillon Read resell then the company with Walter Chrysler the July 31st 1928.
Dodge forms now part of the group Chrysler.
