Doctors of the Church
For the Roman Catholic church, a Doctors of the Church is a Théologie N or a monk of which writings or teaching are regarded as having been used the religion as exceptional way and in which the life is looked like specimen taking into consideration requirement of this one. This name is not equivalent to that of Père of the Church, which is reserved to the Masters of the very first centuries, and whose list is not besides officially not stopped. In addition, all the Doctorss of the Church are taken among the saints, which is not the case of certain Fathers (for example: Origène, Tertullien…)
Several Fathers of the Greek Church are recognized as Doctorss of the Church. In the list below, these Fathers are marked in Italic .
All the Doctorss of the Church were either canonized, or officially regarded as saints for oldest of them. Three women are recognized Doctorss of the Church.
