Docelles

Docelles is a common French, located in the department of the the Vosges and the area Lorraine.

Its inhabitants is called Docellois.

Geography

The commune is crossed by the Vologne seven kilometers upstream of its junction with the the Moselle. The village is located at approximately 15km of Epinal.

Docelles is called " the city of the papier". Paper quoted Docelles, owes its origin and its development with the manufacture of paper. Today an important paper mill is always in activity.

The borough counts also other establishments: clothes industry, sawmill work of wood, produced for the manufacture of paper, cleaning and maintenance, plant maintenance. One also belongs to many craftsmen, trade and administrative services like various health professionals.

It is in particular in Docelles that one exploited famous the " pearls of Vologne".

History

This blazon gathers the weapons of the two paper Masters who had a mill with Docelles. The Royer family which carried mouths to the gold fasce charged with a phoenix of azure on her immortality of mouths accompanied by three heads by ram of money laid out 2 - 1. And the Goz family which carried azure to the gold rafter accompanied as a chief by two money crescents and in point by a gold star.

Curiosities

Church Saint-Valbert
In a forest of the locality, one can find vestiges of an old castle - the " Castle on Perles" - as well as a small cemetery of the men of the maquis.
