Djurgårdens IF Hockey is a club of professional Hockey of Sweden, localized with Stockholm which éovlue with the more Swedish high level in the Elitserien. It is acted in fact of the section hockey of the Djurgårdens IF, a highly famous general sports club in Sweden.

History

Djurgården is one of the clubs having been the most success in Sweden, having gained the most titles of the championship, in addition to producing among the best players of the country. In 2005-06, the club missed the eliminatory Séries for the first time in 19 years.

In addition to its 16 titles, Djurgården also obtained 8 second places (1923, 1924,1927,1979,1984,1985,1992,1998), and was also crowned champions of Europe twice.

Four former players of Djurgården gained gold with the Olympic Games of Turin of the 2006, most known being Mats Sundin Maple Leafs of Toronto.

Among the nicknames of the club, one counts Järnkaminerna (Furnaces with Iron), Stockholms Stolthet (Pride of Stockholm) and Mesta Mästarna (more Glorieux Champions).
