Djibo Leyti Kâ
Djibo Leyti Kâ is a politician Senegal board, several times minister.
Biography
Born with Linguère on February 21st 1948, it makes its studies with and economic scene the Faculty of Law of the Université of Dakar, then with the National school of administration.In 1977 it succeeds Moustapha Niasse in the cabinet of the president Léopold Sédar Senghor.
It has successively these functions of minister:
- 1981 to 1988 - Minister for Information and telecommunications;
- 1988 to 1990 - Minister for the Plan and the co-operation;
- 1990 to 1991 - Minister for State education;
- 1991 to 1993 - Foreign Minister;
- 1993 to 1995 - Minister of Interior Department.
One then regards it as a potential successor of the president Abdou Diouf.
But in 1998, after being excluded from the Socialist party, it founds the Union for the democratic revival (URD), and hardly six months later, it removes eleven seats out of the 140 which counted then the National Assembly at the time of the legislative elections of 1998.
It is classified fourth with the presidential election of 2000, with 7,1% of the voices to the first turn.
In 2004 it is named Minister for the maritime Economy.
July 6th 2007 he becomes Minister of environment and for Protection of nature.
