Djebel Jelloud
Djebel Jelloud or Jbel Jelloud is a city of the southern suburbs of Tunis.
Attached administratively to the Governorship of Tunis, it is the Chef-lieu of a delegation of 26.490 inhabitants (2006) while the city itself shelters a population of 3139 inhabitants. She is indeed agglomerated in the cities of Sidi Fathallah, El Garjouma, Ali Bach-Hamba, Essebkha and El Fath.
It is about the city more Industrie of Tunisia because more than 50% of the active population works in this sector. Indeed, starting from the colonial period (1881 - 1956) an economic fabric dominated by the Heavy industry developed: largest Ciment ery of the country is established there near a treatment plant of the Phosphate S. the proximity of the port of Radès and main axe of transport towards the south (road GP1, highway A1 and Tunis-Sousse railway) supported this establishment.
