Division (material of fire)

In the fire control, a division makes it possible to duplicate a led . It is made up of an entry and several exits, often of lower diameters, and generally of a valve for each exit. It goes without saying connection S are fixed at the ends.

Denominations

One often speaks about junction for a double division (at two exits) and about trifurcation for a triple division. It sometimes happens to find divisions with 4 or 5 exits, planned for devices with large Débit.

One speaks about “division has B × C ”: has represents the diameter of entry, B the number of exits and C their diameter; for example division “75 3×55” (“seventy-five three times fifty five”: entry 75 mm, 3 exits 55 mm). One will add as many couples B × C than there are different diameters of exit.

If one of the exits, generally the central exit of a trifurcation, is same diameter that the entry, one speaks sometimes about “derivation”.
