Divatte

The Divatte is a French river which runs in the departments of Maine-et-Loire and of the Loire-Atlantique. It is a direct affluent of the the Loire.

General presentation

Divatte takes its source with the Puiset-Gilded in the Département of Maine-et-Loire upstream of the commune of Boissière-of-Gilded the located itself on Right Bank of Divatte.

This small affluent of the the Loire which gives its name to the raised which borders the royal river, runs out in extreme cases of the departments of the Loire-Atlantique and the Maine-et-Loire. This small river with the very irregular mode runs in a relief of slopes, wooded small valleys and small meadows. Its boxed and undulating course is punctuated castles and of old water mills.

History

Divatte was a long time the old natural border of the provinces of Anjou and the Steps of Brittany. The commune of Boissière-of-Gilded the, located on Right Bank of Divatte made, until the XVIIIe century, integral part of the Steps of Anjou before being attached to the diocese of Nantes and integrated into the department of the Loire-Inférieure.
Boissière which, although located on the slope Anjou of Divatte, an enclave constitutes since belonging to the Loire-Atlantique, department to which it owes its membership only with one negligence of its inhabitants: indeed, those omitted to send delegates to Paris in 1789 during the replacement of the provinces by the departments, to deliver an opinion on the fate which would be reserved to them being given their typical location (Boissière then formed part of the common steps of Brittany and Anjou with its neighbor Remaudière). This absence had as a consequence the arbitrary fastening of the commune at the Loire-Inférieure, with the only reason which it depended as well as Remaudière on Evêché on Nantes. Boissière was thus on this detached occasion of the Mauges and Divatte lost its historical role of border of the Anjou.
