Div

A div is a spirit malefic of the Iranian Mythologie which likes to cause the pain and the destruction. The term means " literally; démon". Their chief is Ahriman. Their opponents are the beneficial Izeds or geniuses which obey Ormuzd or Oromase.

A famous div is Div-e sephid , meaning " Demon blanc" , which intervenes in the history of Rostam and the white demon. This white demon is still existing in the stories of the Mazandaran.
