Culture and Inheritance
Diusse is also famous for its classified Romance church (XI and XII S.). It entered the history as the Viscount of Béarn and the count of Armagnac swore in 1104 on his furnace bridge, “to keep the peace and the truce of God”. The residence, known as the castle, was freed from the seigneuriaux rights in 1685 by the lord of Diusse in favor of Brumont, lords of Said, who reside there until 1837. Since many installations and transformations followed one another as well in the house as in the park. The terrace and the garden with the Frenchwoman extend to the south from the castle and offer a splendid sight on all the valley of the Pyrenees. Part of the buildings contiguous to the castle accommodates a center of assistance by the work which exploits 15 hectares of vine which produce 3 large AOC: Madiran, Pacherenc of Vic-BIlh and Rosé of Béarn.
