History

• 1792 : creation of the department of Seine-Lower with 7 districts: Cany, Caudebec-in-Caux, Dieppe, Gournay, Montivilliers, Neufchâtel, Rouen
• 1800: creation of the districts: Dieppe, Le Havre, Neufchâtel, Rouen, Yvetot
• 1926: removal of the districts of Neufchâtel and Yvetot
• 1955: theLower becomes Seine-Maritime
