Districts of Toulouse

The town of Toulouse is divided by the town hall into 17 large districts having each one a town hall of district and a deputy mayor dealing with this one. Seventeen districts cut out in an administrative way the city. This cutting follows the historical cutting of small districts or old boroughs or village as Saint-Martin-of-Touch. But, it does not follow the cantonal cutting which divides certain historical quarters in two, like the district of the Minimes.

The district n°11 corresponds to the district of the Cross of Pierre and gathers the sectors of Oustalous and Holy-Cecile. It is located at the south of the city and is next to the by-pass.

  • Saint Martin's day of Touch is an old autonomous village become a district with whole share of the town of Toulouse. It belongs to the district n°13 of the town of Toulouse. Saint Martin's day of Touch has a true village heart close which pretty small the Rivière of the Touch passes before being thrown in the the Garonne. If there were not the Avion S of the Aéroport of Toulouse Blagnac or the French Autoroute A62, one could believe oneself in a small village of countryside. Located at the west of the city but connected by the line C, Saint Martin's day of Touch is easily connected to the center town.

  • Purpan is located at the west of the city. It is included/understood in the district n°13 according to the municipal cutting of the city with Saint Martin's day of Touch. It contains the sectors of Ancely , Bafullet and the Roman Arènes .

This district is populated the most of the 17 large districts which compose the town of Toulouse. It consists of three historical quarters more commonly called the Mirail. These districts were built at the 20th century at the time of the great projects of town planning of “new city”. Mirail gathers the three districts: the Mirail-University, Reynerie and Bellefontaine.
