Districts of Luxembourg
A district is a subdivision of the territory of the Luxembourg, the greatest subdivision of this country.
Luxembourg is divided into three districts, themselves subdivided into twelve canton S.
Administration
Each district is managed by a police chief of district, named by the Large-Duke.The police stations of district supervise generally the management of the municipal authorities, associations of communes and public corporations placed under the common monitoring of the S. the competence of the police chiefs of district extends to all the cities and common S from their spring, except for the town of Luxembourg which remains under the direct authority of the Minister of Interior Department, except in the cases envisaged by special laws.
It is attached to each police station a secretary of district which is named by the Large-Duke on a proposal from the police chief of district.
Each district is divided in its turn into canton.
