History

  • 1790 : creation of the department of Loir-et-Cher with 6 districts: Blois, Sea, Mondoubleau, Romorantin, Saint-Aignan, Vendôme
  • 1800: creation of the districts: Blois, Romorantin, Vendôme
  • 1926: removal of the district of Romorantin
  • 1943: restoration of the district of Romorantin

Romorantin (after fusion with Lanthenay) became Romorantin-Lanthenay in 1961
