History

• 1790 : creation of the department of Indre-et-Loire with 7 districts: Amboise, Castle-Renault, Chinon, Langeais, Loaches, Preuilly, Turns
• 1800: creation of the districts: Chinon, Loaches, Turns
• 1926: removal of the district of Loaches
• 1942: restoration of the district of Loaches
