History

• 1790 : creation of the department of Herault with 4 districts: Béziers, Lodève, Montpellier, Saint-Pons
• 1800: creation of the districts: Béziers, Lodève, Montpellier, Saint-Pons
• 1926: removal of the districts of Lodève and Saint-Pons
• 1942: restoration of the district of Lodève

In 1979, Saint-Pons became Saint-Pons-with-Thomières.
