History
- 1790 : creation of the department of Eure-et-Loir with 6 districts: Chartres, Châteaudun, Châteauneuf-in-Thymerais, Dreux, Janville, Nogent-le-Rotrou
- 1800: creation of the districts: Chartres, Châteaudun, Dreux, Nogent-le-Rotrou
- 1926: removal of the district of Nogent-le-Rotrou
- 1943: restoration of the district of Nogent-le-Rotrou
