Districts of Buenos Aires

The town of Buenos Aires, since August 2005, is divided into 48 districts called barrios in Spanish:

Division in Comunas

The Comunas or Communes are urban districts. Each Comuna includes/understands one or more districts.

The Comunas are numbered, like the districts of Paris, but with Arab numerals. Here is the list by numerical order, like their constituent districts:

  1. Puerto Madero, San Nicolás, Retiro, Monserrat, San Telmo, and Constitución
  2. Recoleta
  3. Balvanera and San Cristóbal
  4. Boca, Barracas, Park Patricios, and Nueva Pompeya
