District of Valley-of-Ruz

Valley-of-Ruz is one of the 6 districts which form the Canton of Neuchâtel in Suisse. It is presented in a valley formed by 2 forest mountains culminated by the the Sight-of-Alps.

The chief town of the district is Cernier which is also the largest commune of Valley-of-Ruz, smallest being the village of Engollon with 89 inhabitants in 2006. It is this small village which shelters the swimming pool in the open air district.

This valley is into full in the middle of the way connecting the towns of Neuchâtel and La Chaux-de-Fonds.

It is the area of origin of the Swiss skier Didier Cuche, world champion of descent in 2006.

Each summer the festival of the Earth takes place on the Evologia site in Cernier. This demonstration based on the topic of the Agriculture lasts several days and shelters in particular a festival of classical music to the Barn with the concert.
