District of Toul

The district of Toul is a French administrative division , located in the department of Meurthe-et-Moselle and the area Lorraine.

History

The law of has 28 pluviôse year VIII (February 17th, 1800) and the decree of the consuls of the 17 ventôse (March 8th) created the district of Toul starting from 16 cantons having belonged to the district of this name and those of Pont-à-Mousson and Vézelise, namely: Toul, Allamps, Bicqueley, Blénod, Colombey, Dieulouard, Favières, Flirey (instead of Bernécourt), Foug, Gondreville (instead of Fontenoy), Jaillon, Lucey, Pagny, Royaumeix, Thiaucourt and Vandeléville. Some of these cantons will be then amalgamated by the law of the 8 pluviôse year IX (January 28th, 1801).

Before 1871, the district belonged to the department of the Meurthe.

The district is removed of September 10th, 1926 at 1943.
