The autonomous Albanian district of Shkodër gathers 1.631 km ² for 260.000 inhabitants and is close to the Albanian districts of Malësi E Madhe, Tropojë, Pukë and Lezhë but holds also a frontage on the Adriatic Sea and a common border with the République of the Montenegro, the capital is Shkodër.
