District of Oporto

The district of Oporto is a District of Portugal, corresponding to the traditional provincial core of the Douro Litoral. Limited to north by the District of Braga, to the east by the District of Villa Real, to the south by the District of Viseu and by the District of Aveiro and finally in the west by the Atlantic Ocean. Its surface is about 2.395 km ², which makes the 17th larger district of it. Its population is of 1 781 826 inhabitants (2001). Its capital is the éponyme city of Oporto.
