District of Gien

The district of Gien , territorial division French, was a subdivision of the department Loiret, itself left the area Center.

During the recutting of the districts intervened in 1926, the district of Gien was removed. Five cantons being distributed between the District of Orleans and the District of Montargis.

During the new cutting of the districts of 1942, the distribution of the cantons of the old district of Gien was not modified.

Canton of the Châtillon-on-Loire (attached since 1926 to the district of Montargis), grouping the communes of:

Autry-le-Châtel, the Beaulieu-on-Loire, Cernoy-in-Berry, the Châtillon-on-Loire, Pierrefitte-be-Wood, the Saint-Firmin-on-Loire,

Canton of Gien, (attached since 1926 to the district of Montargis), grouping the communes of:

Boismorand, the Cabbages, Let us run, Gien (including the common associated Arrabloy), Langesse, the Winch-on-Plaster filling, Nevoy, Poilly-lez-Gien, the Saint-Brisson-on-Loire, Saint-Gondon, Saint-Martin-on-Ocher,

Canton of the Ouzouer-on-Loire, (attached since 1926 to the district of Orleans), grouping the communes of:

Bonnée, Border them, Bray-in-Valley (called in the past Bray ), Dampierre-in-Burly (called in the past Dampierre ), Montereau, the Ouzouer-on-Loire and the Saint-Benoit-on-Loire,

Canton of the Sully-on-Loire, (attached since 1926 to the district of Orleans), grouping the communes of:

Cerdon, Guilly, Isdes, Lion-in-Sullias, Saint-Aignan-the-Jaillard, Saint-Florent, the Saint-Father-on-Loire (in the past the Holy Father ), the Sully-on-Loire, Viglain and Villemurlin.
