District of Courtelary

The district of Courtelary is one of the 26 districts canton of Bern in Suisse. It is one of the 3 entirely French-speaking districts of the Canton of Bern and constitutes the area of the the Bernese Jura with the 2 other French-speaking districts of the canton, the district of Neuveville and the district of Moutier. The commune of Courtelary is the chief town of the district. The district had a population of 22.298 inhabitants at December 31st, 2005. Its surface is of 266 km ² and counts 18 communes:
