District of Avallon

The district of Avallon is a French administrative division , located in the department of the Yonne and the area Burgundy.

Aisy-on-Armançon, Ancy-the-Franc, Ancy-the-Free, Argentenay, Argenteuil-on-Armançon, Chassignelles, Cry, Fulvy, Jully, Lézinnes, Nights, Pacy-on-Armançon, Perrigny-on-Armançon, Turnip fields, Sambourg, Stigny, Villiers-the-Tops and Vireaux.

Canton of Avallon, which groups 16 communes:

Ass-the-Coast, Annéot, Avallon, Domecy-on-the-Vault, Étaule, Girolles, Island, Lucy-the-Wood, Magny, Menades, Pontaubert, Sauvigny-the-Wood, Sermizelles, Tharot, Thory and Vault-with-Lugny.

Canton of Cruzy-le-Châtel, which groups 16 communes:

Arthonnay, Baon, Cruzy-le-Châtel, Gigny, Nipple, Mélisey, Pimelles, Quincerot, Rugny, Saint-Martin-on-Armançon, Sennevoy-le-Bas, Sennevoy-le-Haut, Tanlay, Thorey, Trichey and Villon.

Canton of Flogny-the-Vault, which group 14 communes:

Bernouil, Beugnon, Butteaux, Carisey, Dyé, Flogny-the-Vault, Lasson, Neuvy-Sautour, Percey, Roffey, Sormery, Soumaintrain, Tronchoy and Villiers-Vinous.

Canton of Guillon, which groups 17 communes:

Bierry-the-Beautiful-Fountains, Cisery, Cussy-the-Forging mills, Guillon, Marmeaux, Montreal, Pisy, Saint-Andre-in-Ground-Plain, Holy-Magnance, Santigny, Sauvigny-le-Beuréal, Savigny-in-Ground-Plain, Seals, Thizy, Trévilly, Vassy and Vines.

Canton of Isle-on-Serene the, which groups 13 communes:

Angely, Annoux, Athie, Blacy, Coutarnoux, Dissangis, Isle-on-Serene the, Joux-the-City, Massangis, Précy-the-Dryness, Provency, Holy-Dove and Talcy.

Canton of Walnut tree-on-Serene, which groups 15 communes:

Ass-on-Serene, Censy, Châtel-Gerard, Étivey, Fresnes, Grimault, Jouancy, Môlay, Mill-in-Tonnerrois, Nitry, Walnut tree-on-Serene, Pasilly, Poilly-on-Serene, Holy-Virtue and Sarry.

Before 1926

Of 1800 (year VIII) with 1926, the district included/understood the current cantons, except:

Canton of Ancy-the-Franc, Canton of Cruzy-le-Châtel, Canton of Flogny-the-Vault, canton of Walnut trees and Canton of Thunder, detached in 1926 of old the district of Thunder , removed on this occasion and ever restored.
