District council of the Countries of the Loire

The district council of the Pays of the Loire is based with Nantes. It is composed of 93 regional advisers elected for 6 years.

Current district council

The current council was elected in 2004 for a legislature active until 2010. It is composed of the political groups according to:

  • List “On the left, for an area righter” (PS - PCF - PRG - the Greens - MRC): 60 seats
  • List “Union of the Countries of the Loire” (UDF - UMP - Various Right-hand side): 33 seats

The district council is currently chaired by Jacques Auxiette (list “On the left, for an area righter” (PS - PCF - PRG - the Greens - MRC))
