The countryside

The countryside for the regional ones starts with the reflection of the Outgoing president, Valery Giscard d'Estaing, which hesitates to make the " mandate of trop". Opposite, the socialist opposition chooses Pierre-Joël Bonté, whereas several local frameworks of the PS do not misent " not a kopek" (according to the dires of Kindness) on its victoire.
Indeed, in spite of his place of president of the General advice of Puy-de-Dome, the socialist candidate has several disadvantages. Its notoriety is very weak. Its principal adversary enjoys a political experiment without any measurement, and a very great intelligence with its advantage. Moreover, the socialist candidate does not manage to bring together the actors of the left to the first turn. PCF and the Greens make lists with part.
Pierre-Joël Bonté pokes her arrows against a Giscard which especially served Clermont-Ferrand with the Zenith, the Large market and Vulcania.

With the first turn, Valery Giscard d'Estaing precedes her adversary comfortably. Two points are to be noted: the important score of the PCF list carried out by Andre Chassaigne which arrives at a little less than 10%, and 5% of the lists of the greens taken along by Yves Guesdon. There are also the 9,59% of the National front, making area of Auvergne one of rare in 2004 not to qualify for the second tower the list of Louis de Condé.
