Distributivity (elementary mathematics)

The distributivity is a property of the Multiplication which makes it possible to carry out in two ways different the product from a number by a sum:

has \ times (b+c) = (has \ times b) + (has \ times c) Ici one distributed has in each term of the sum

(a+b) \ times C = (has \ times c) + (B \ times c) Ici one distributed C in each term of the sum

To pass from the product of a number by a sum to a sum of two products is called to develop the expression.

By writing the equality in the other direction, one obtains then the description or factorization:

(has \ times b) + (has \ times c) = has \ times (b+c) Ici one put has in factor in the expression
