Distant signal

Definition

The distant signal was a railway signal of type the SNCF.

In luminous indication only, the distant signal was presented in the form of a green light and of a yellow fire, aligned vertically.

The closed distant signal ordered with the mechanic to be able to stop before the signal of stop announced by the following warning. The mechanic was not to then exceed the speed of:

  • 90 km/h for the trains provided with the continuous brake travellers;

  • 50 km/h for the other trains;

with the crossing of the following warning.

Ce signal is not any more utilisé.
