The distance is an attitude which consists with “ not to take for oneself what is not oneself ” (cf Descartes).
General standard
The distance consists, for the professional who leads a maintenance, not to imply itself in the statements of its interlocutor. It consists in attitudes and behaviors of comprehension, without testing the emotivity of that which tests sympathy or antipathy.
The distance is not the indifference not more than one attitude of rejection, to push back something or somebody. On the contrary, the distance in mediation allows the reception.
Into Mediation, the distance relative results in the Neutralité Médiateur with the solution and its Impartialité relative with the protagonists of the conflict.
The distance is worked at the time of the training of the total techniques of the alterocentrage: (Maieutic, listening activates, Reformulation, Synthèse…).
