Disney Interactive Studios
Disney Interactive Studios , old Buena Vista Interactive or Buena Vista Games is a subsidiary company of the body of diffusion Buena Vista Entertainment pertaining to the Walt Disney Company, specialized in the Video game.
History
It was created the September 19th 2001 like an emanation of Disney Interactive under the name of Buena Vista Interactive for then taking it under its cut in 2003. It was famous Buena Vista Games the April 22nd 2005.The February 8th 2007, Disney announced the renaming of Buena Vista Games in Disney Interactive Studios .
The February 26th 2007, the Disney Interactive Studios announces the exit for the March 15th 2007 of a new handset Spectrobes . But they are especially the " with côtés" who are important in this new handset. The Disney company wishes if the success of the play is confirmed that Spectrobes becomes a global license. Thus other divisions of the Disney group (inter alia: the cinema, television and the cable networks, parks with topics and consumables) could benefit from it to publish derivative products. In the event of success, it would be the first time that the branch video game is at the origin of a license of the group, traditionally drawn by the branch cinema.
The February 28th 2007, WDIG, Disney Interactive Studios and Macrovision announce a collaboration to distribute the video games Disney in Europe and Australia thanks to a gate managed by WDIG on the network of Macrovision.
The July 12th 2007, Disney Interactive Studios announces the purchase of the Junction Point Studios of Warren Spector
The Interactive July 13rd 2007, Disney advertisement launching for May 2008 of an Internet site for the gamers DGamer .
Organization
It gathers the various entities of video games of the subsidiary companies of Disney as
- Disney Interactive
- ABC Interactive (for Which wants to gain million)
- ESPN Interactive for sets of sports of which those based on the X-Ranges.
Studios
It has five studios of production of video game:
- Avalanche Software based with Salt Lake City in the Utah
- Propaganda Ranges based with Vancouver with the Canada
- Black Rock'n'roll Studio (ex- Climax Racing ) bought in 2006 with the Climax Group and rebpatized in July 2007.
- Fall Line Studio created in November 2006 for the Nintendo DS and the Wii
- Junction Not Studios created in 2004 by Warren Spector
A sixth studio, Minds Eye Production, bought by the Walt Disney Internet Group seems to be integrated into the group but does not have any more any activity known since its repurchase.
