Disney Fairies

Disney Fairies is a frankness from the Walt Disney Company. The concept of this transverse range of Disney Consumer Products is to capitalize on the rich person heritage of the fairy tales within the universe of Disney. The main character is the Fée Small bell of Peter Pan, but it is used as discussion thread for a whole of elements, mainly for submission to the young girls, related to the magic world of the fairies and fantasy.

This frankness has attributes reflecting the social development of its target public and the following demographic characteristics:

  • 96% of sensitivity for the mothers of children between 2 and 5 years
  • 94% of sensitivity with the girls from 9 to 11 years
  • 91% of sensitivity with the girls from 6 to 8 years

Origin of the frankness

With the opening of the Fair of the children's book of Bologna of 2005 (spring), Walt Disney Company announced its plans to publish a news illustrated for the girls from 6 to 10 years. But it is only in September 2005 that Disney Publishing Worldwide published the news entitled Poussière of Fairies and magic egg ( Fairy Dust and the Quest for the Egg ) written by Gail Carson Levine, already rewarded by a Newbery Honor, thus marking the beginning of Disney Fairies . The book, considered as the angular stone of the series and the frankness, was published in 32 languages in 45 countries with a publicity campaign and marketing without precedent estimated at more than one million dollar. The news became quickly a best-seller for the NewYork Times and was sold to more than one million specimens in the world

Fairies and the associated world

The stories concerning the birth of the Fée S are largely widespread through the history and in literary works. Thus, they would be creations of the goddess Diane (Leland, 2004), born in the middle of the flowers (Franklin, 2005), born from a midwife (Coleman, 1939) or simply created at the time of a merry event (Bradley, 2002). (See References. Disney chose to give rise to them the manner indicated by James Matthew Barrie, author of Peter Pan and explaining their origins in the first laughter of the babies. This laughter which becomes fairies is very rare, because they must cross during one day the ocean to reach the imaginary Pays then on their arrival to explode to become a fairy.

Disney categorized the appearance of the fairies by their talent. Each fairy of Disney has a specific talent which it can use. Among the talents one finds: water, the light, art, the care, gardening, flight, harvest, the seam, dust (of fairy) and animals.

With the image of the range Disney Princess, Disney Fairies includes/understands several characters, each one with a distinct personality so that the young girls are able to find themselves in the fairies with the personality close to their.

The fairies of Disney live within the Tree House, large a maple located in the middle of Pixie Hollow (the small valley of magic dust), in the imaginary Country.
