Disney Cuties

Disney Cuties is a division of Disney Consumer Products specialized in the products of the house, the articles for the children and the babies. The concept of this range is based on a new graphic aspect of the principal characters of Disney, namely the universe of Mickey Mouse and that of Winnie the bear cub.

The concept

This aspect takes again a style developed in the Manga and popularized by the character Japan board of Hello Kitty and the character Korea N of Pucca.

The graphic style is very purified. It is based on rare thick lines but which often introduces the character in a “reduced” way (near of the principle of the Super deformed ) and “nice” ( Kawaii in Japanese, cute in English) joufflue.

The Disney company seems to be interested by this concept following the strong passion for the character of Pucca, whose chain Jetix (subsidiary of Disney since 2004) diffuses the adventures.

The company Disney Consumer Products markets many objects introducing the Cute characters. The three principal sectors are

the articles of house and mainly the objects of the kitchen like the mugs, the cups, the bowls…
the articles for the children: clothing for girls, mainly for the pre-teenagers, of the school articles (portfolios, pencils, books,…)
articles for babies (associate with Disney Baby) with knowing of clothing, cuddly toys, toys…

There exists a series of booklets in English language containing of the stories of Disney Cuties.
