Discusión teleológica
The family of the Pétrosaviacées is a family of plants Monocotylédone S. In traditional classification of Cronquist (1981) he includes/understands two to three species of the kind Petrosavia .
They are nonchlorophyllian herbaceous plants, saprophytes, with membranous sheets of the wet forests of Southeast Asia, Malaysia and Borneo.
In phylogenetic classification of APG II (2003) the family includes/understands also the kind Japonolirion (a species, included in the Liliacée S in Classification of Cronquist and in the Japonoliriacée S in APG, 1998). In this is a family isolated located at the base from the monocotylédones, for which the order of the Petrosaviales seems to be essential.
