Discovery Channel is a cabled American television channel born in 1985 which has mainly programs centered on sciences and much of reports devoted to nature. It is available in French version since autumn 2004 in France thanks to the range of satellite channels Canalsat, and diffuses mainly the European emissions of the head office (London/Discovery Channel the U.K.), as well as the emissions headlights of Discovery the USA: Mythbusters, or American Chopper for example.

In France, Discovery Channel is especially known for its cyclist team (see Équipe cyclist Discovery Channel) which gained the Tour de France twice, in 2005 and 2007, with Lance Armstrong and Alberto Contador.
