Discovery (Daft Punk)

Discovery is the title of the second album of the group Daft Punk, left in 2001 and composed of 14 titles. It is their first album to include pieces having of true words, like their piece worship, One More Time . In 2003 dumb cartoon film Interstella 5555 will leave: The 5tory off the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem realized by Leiji Matsumoto, the author of Albator, with as single sounds 14 pieces of Discovery accompanying the action.

Four individual was extracted from this album: “One More Time”, “Aerodynamic”, “DIGITAL Coil” and “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger”. The clips was in fact the first four chapters of the film Interstella 5555: The 5tory off the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem.

The first version of the disc offered a chart of member of the “ Daft Club ”. This chart gave, thanks to a code, the access to an Internet site proposing of the new free downloading of remixes and extracts of live performance. The titles were readable only with one reader provides by the site. The site has had for closed summer, the pieces are from now on available on Alive 1997 and Daft Club.

Note: The title of the 11th piece of the album, " Veridis Quo" , can also be interpreted like the Homophone of " Very Disco". In the same way, it is enough to give the syllables in the good order and one obtains " Disquo veri " i.e. the title of the album " Discovery".

The name of the album is surely a wink in the name of the space shuttle of the film 2001: the odyssey of space.
