The corpuscles of Merkel are Mécanorécepteur S located at the internal base of the skin; They are responsible for tactile perception with high-resolution, like reading the Braille. They are composed of the cells of Merkel of the basal layer of the skin and the nervous terminations cutaneous of Abéta type. The importance of the cells of Merkel is not completely cleared up today.
