Dirtiness

Salete is a city Brésil ienne of the State of Santa Catarina. It is located by a Latitude of 26º 58 ' 48" south and by a Longitude of 49º 59 ' 59" west, with a Altitude of 500 meters. Its population was estimated at: 7125 inhabitants in 2006. The municipality extends on 179 km ².

General information

The city is located in a mountainous valley, with the broken relief, parcourrue by many Rivière S forming the Rio Itajaí C Oeste. Its vegetation is caracteritic native forest of the area, the Atlantic Forêt.

The majority of its inhabitants are of German origin , Polish Italy and .

Economy

The agricultural main activities of the municipality are the culture of the Tabac, the production of Lait, the breeding of Volaille S and Porc S, as well as the production of Céréale S for local consumption.

Tourism

At the tourist level, one can notice the morro da Salete , the sanctuary Nossa Senhora de Fátima (in a cave) as various water falls (Santa Margarida, Rio América, Braço C Torete, Barra Large among others).

History

Dirtiness started to be populated about 1925, by Italian and German immigrants come from the cities close in search to new grounds to be cultivated. Under the name of Ribeirão Large , the locality was attached to Taió until in 1961, when it acquired its independence. Its name is a homage to Nossa Senhora da Salete (“Notre-Dame de Salete” in French), whose image was placed in a seminar built by the monks on the morro da Salete , in 1937. It is about a group of statue of big size, brought by the father Suisse Eduardo Summermater, surmounting the seminário C Morro . It constitutes today the main thing Sanctuaire Diocèse of Rio C Sul.
