Dirtied Berisha
Sali RAM Berisha (October 15th, 1944, Tropojë -) is a politician Albanian, old president of the Republic of Albania and member of the Democratic party of Albania. Prime Minister for the Albania since September 3rd, 2005.
Berisha followed studies in medicine and specialized in cardiology.
From April 9th, 1992 to July 24th, 1997, Berisha is president of the Republic, he resigns the 24 July under the pressure of the demonstrations with Tirana and in all the country and after having declared the state of emergency and set up the curfew on all the territory of the Republic. Its bad management of Albania of after communist period is the main cause of the deterioration of the Albanian State, which brought the revolts of 1997 and the loss of the capacity by the Democratic party.
Berisha is the chief of the Democratic party of Albania since 1991.
At the time of the elections of July, its slogan was: “ Professor Doctor Sali Berisha, with clean hands. ” What implied a healthy organization of the country, without corruption, and a better distribution of the public funds.
July 3rd, 2005, the Democratic party gains the legislative elections, which opens in Berisha the post of Prime Minister in September 2005.
During its new mandate, Berisha concentrates on the fight against corruption and the organized criminal groups (Maffia…). In spite of certain results, the rate of corruption remains higher than in the adjoining countries.
