Dirk Ends
Dirk Ends , or Dieric Bouts , known as also Dirk Bouts the old man (v. 1415 - Leuwen, 1475) is an active Dutch painter at the time of the Primitifs Flemish.
Life
One knows few things on this artist. The biographical note that devotes to him Carel van Mander (1604) is, of the consent even of the author, very lacunar. According to him it would have been born with Haarlem. One is unaware of who was his Master. Its first works testify to the influence of Van der Weyden but also of Petrus Christus. At the end of the years 1450, he marries certain Katharina van der Brugghen, resulting from the middle-class of Leuwen, then in full economic and artistic expansion. He will have of it four children.
