Directive INSPIRES

The directing INSPIRES is the directive 2007/2/CE of the European Parliament and the Council of March 14th, 2007 establishing a geographical infrastructure of information in the European Community (INSPIRES).

Types of actions

There exist five types of actions:

  1. the Member States take care that Métadonnée S are created for the space series of Donnée S, and are updated.

  2. the European commission adopts rules of implementation fixing of the harmonized specifications applicable to the space Donnée S, and of arrangements for the exchange and the division of Données geographical.
  3. the Member States establish and exploit services in order to make available via specific services the plays from Donnée S and space services of Donnée S, for which Métadonnée S were created. These services are placed at the disposal of the public authorities and the thirds on request.
  4. the Member States adopt measures of division of the plays of Donnée S and space services of Donnée S between the public authorities. These measurements allow the public authorities Member States like with the institutions and bodies of the Communauté to reach the plays and services of Donnée S, to exchange them and to use them for purposes of public missions having a direct or indirect incidence on the environment.
  5. the Member States will have to indicate the suitable structures and mechanisms to coordinate the contributions of all those which have an interest in their infrastructures of space information, such as the users, the producers, the service providers with added-value, and the organizations of coordination.
