Direct access
A Logiciel makes a direct access (also called chance access ) with an element (for example, a recording of a Fichier) when he writes or that he reads the element while going directly to the place where the element must be written or read without writing or reading the preceding elements.
To reach directly the desired place, the software uses a index or a mathematical calculation which gives him the address of the element.
The other type of access is the Sequential access.
The direct access is obviously preferable with the sequential access when an application must write, read or modify only one element of a broad unit.
The typical Structure of data of the direct access is the table.
