Group Japanese Visual kei, at the origin named It: Sadie' S, which, following the departure of the bass player, Kisaki, is reformed thanks to a new bass player, Toshiya, and takes the name of Dir in grey in 1997.

Biography

In 1997, whereas the group is always indies, leaves their first mini-album Missa , which shows already that the group, in spite of an unquestionable inspiration drawn from large from the moment (Kuroyume at the head) has already a a little removed from rim clean style and sinks, and of the strong titles like Garden or Byo Shin in its discography. However, it is only with individual the I' L and its million sales that the group really takes off.

In 1999, Dir in grey will become a group major with the arrival with the levers of their new producer Yoshiki (ex-beater of X Japan), which will constitute a springboard for the future of the group. This same year leaves their first album, Gauze , already very advanced compared to Missa , by a better production and more worked arrangements.
