Dipterocarpaceae

The family of the Diptérocarpacées is a family of plants Dicotylédone S. According to some authors it includes/understands only Asiatiques plants:

They are large trees with persistent sheets of the tropical areas. One meets them mainly in the rain forests of the lowlands of the peninsula indomalaise.

Other authors also includent the plants accepted like the familie Monotaceae by some authors. In this case Diptérocarpacées include/understand two additional subfamilies:

  • Marquesia , Monotes in Africa and Pseudomonotes in America of the South;
  • Pakaraimaea in Guyana.

The phylogenetic classification locates this family in the order of the Malvales .
