Diprion de LeConte
The Diprion de LeConte is a Hyménoptère whose larvae tackle various species of young pines (red Pin, gray Pin, woodland Pin) and whose damage, when the larvae are in great number, can result in the death of the tree.
This species, presents only in North America, is dedicated to the American entomologist John Lawrence LeConte (1825-1883).
Description
The male is black with feathery antennas. It measures 5 to 6 Misters the female with the head and the red brown thorax. It measures from 6 to 9,5 Misters.
